The Short Version
FiledIn does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. We don't ask for your PAN, Aadhaar, or bank details. We don't track you across the web. We display public government data, and that's it.
What Data We Collect
Analytics (anonymous): We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are popular. This data is aggregate and never tied to an individual.
Newsletter (if you subscribe): We store your email address to send you the weekly digest. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click. We never share this with third parties.
Contact form: If you contact us, we receive your name, email, and message. This is used only to respond to you.
What Data We Do NOT Collect
- ✓Your PAN number, Aadhaar, or any government ID
- ✓Your income, tax liability, or financial details
- ✓Any data from your Form 16 uploads (Form 16 analysis is done in your browser — we never receive the file)
- ✓Your location (beyond the country level for analytics)
- ✓Any login credentials or account information
Form 16 Analyser
The Form 16 Analyser processes your PDF entirely in your browser. The file is never uploaded to our servers. We cannot see your Form 16. This is by design — your salary data is private and should stay that way.
Tax AI
Queries sent to the Tax AI may be processed by third-party AI providers (Anthropic Claude API). Do not include personal identifiers (PAN, Aadhaar, income amounts) in your AI queries. Treat it as a general-purpose question tool, not a personal document analyser.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies — only what's necessary for the site to function (like remembering your calculator inputs within a session). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
Data Sources
All ITR statistics displayed on FiledIn are sourced from the official Income Tax Department portal (incometax.gov.in). We do not manufacture, estimate, or modify the data. When the government pauses data publication, we display the last known values with a clear timestamp.
Your Rights
If you've subscribed to our newsletter and want to be removed, click Unsubscribe in any email. If you've sent us a contact form and want your data deleted, email us at privacy@filedin.in. We'll delete it within 72 hours.
